The current demand & upward price movement in real estate Cochin speaks well for investing in real estate. Residential property is on a high pitch but the yield is relatively less when compared to commercial property in Cochin, at least when it comes to short-term profits. Though the rental rates have gone up considerably, the purchasing amount of these has also gone up proportionately.

Proximity to Marine Drive or Kakkanad in Cochin makes the property value go sky-high. It would be a viable proposition to purchase good commercial space in potential areas of Cochin.

With the stream of MNCs, establishing their base in the city of Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala is witnessing an unprecedented demand in the real estate sector. Most large MNC brings in 1000s of people to work for them. At a moderate estimate, assuming only 25 percent of the work force came from out side the city to Cochin, there will be a huge demand for housing.

The city is already bursting at its seams with overpopulation. The infrastructure is quite inadequate to meet the needs of the residents. The need for better roads and housing is a pressing need that refuses to be ignored any longer. With the increase inflow of foreign funds, with any luck the government will take up the issue of roads at the war footing.

Unfortunately, Kerala of all the states in India has not the luxury of plentiful free space. The best solution would be to go vertical. This helps you preserve the greenery or what is left of it too. Cochin apartments and flats are already lining the sky and many more are in the offing. The rising requirement for real estate is a boon to all concerned.
